Amberlight provide user-centred design services to many different types of organisation. We design a bespoke service for each project to provide exactly what the client requires. We don't sell off-the-shelf services.
The services we provide a client depend upon several factors, including:
Below are some of the typical questions clients come to us with, and some examples of the services we might apply:
Before you begin to design anything, we need to establish your users' requirements. We observe real members of your target audience using similar existing systems and discuss their needs.
Companies who build your technological systems often just build whatever you tell them to. They are unable to help you specify a successful design that users will be able to employ successfully. Amberlight do this by employing user-centred design methods. We can develop successful designs for your systems developers to build by prototyping solutions which we test with your users.
Testing your product with real, representative users in a realistic context is the best way to uncover problems with the current design.
If your product is performing poorly in another country, then we can test it in different international markets via our International Usability Partners network.
If there isn't enough budget for testing with users, we will often recommend a thorough, but inexpensive expert usability audit.
Amberlight can help your team master any of the processes employed in user-centred projects with tailored training courses.
Amberlight don't seek to make our clients dependent on our services. Once you learn the methods involved, we can use our considerable experience of managing user-centred design projects to help you integrate these methods into your own processes. This could take the form of anything from a friendly chat to helping you institute a PRINCE2 user-centred design process that adheres to ISO13407.
Some problems don't lend themselves to observation, or even traditional usability testing. Our specialist eye-tracking services can be applied to systems which require detailed analysis.
